About Charles
& Queen City Healing Arts

Hello, my friend! My name is Charles Quijada Turlington (he/they), and I am the owner of Queen City Healing Arts. I am a licensed massage therapist, craniosacral therapist, and spiritual practitioner who has been walking his path of healing & learning since 2012.

My work bridges self & spirit by honoring the soul, tending the body, & calming the mind. Through this intersection of restorative bodywork and subtle energy medicine, I help you find your way back home to the heart of who you are.

I graduated from the Massage Therapy Institute of Colorado in the winter of 2013 with a focus in myofascial release, concluding with an internship at a local medical center dedicated to inner city health equity. I then studied neuroanatomy and somatoemotional release extensively with the Upledger Institute, serving as a teaching assistant for various classes around the country.

Alongside my learning, I spent many years serving as a craniosacral therapist for American veterans & active-duty service members healing through their physical & emotional injuries. I also worked in the field of medical massage therapy with devotion, helping a myriad of people recover from surgery, accidents, and trauma.

This work connected me to clients in every season of life: from the womb to the NICU, in childhood and adolescence, through the many decades of adulthood and, for some, all the way through to their transitions into what’s beyond and what lies next.

Over the course of my time working in these capacities, I encountered an incredible number of beautiful people who found the strength within themselves to heal.

They chose to face their pains & to work through them; to process their feelings & unpack their emotions; and to See themselves in the mirror & accept themselves for who they are. It was in this - this constant flow of clients as teachers; these examples of people who never gave up - that I learned the importance and magnitude of the soul.

In bearing witness to the soul, I learned to honor the subtlest systems of the body: the fields of energy which course through & around us, braiding spirit and feeling and form into one. The wisdom of this braid led me to the remembrance and reclamation of my ancestral medicines, reconnecting me to a traditional path of spiritual discipline and sacred ritual. The humility of this braid motivated me to forge relationships with teachers of integrity, teachers whom I continue to learn from with gratitude and grace.

And, in the winter of 2019, the profound power of this braid inspired me to step into my own practice: Queen City Healing Arts.

I created this space so all the layers of a person can be respected - their physical bodies, their thinking minds, & their indomitable spirits - and be given the opportunity to transform.

This space exists for you - so you may release & unwind, restore & explore, and do so in a safe, sacred, supportive portal of healing. This space is here for you.

When we take the time to take care of ourselves, we respect ourselves. When we take the time to get to know ourselves, we accept ourselves. And in this union of self-respect and self-acceptance, we connect with our deepest, most empowering realizations of who we are, how we heal, and what we are here to do.

So, that’s why I’m here! To help you take better care of you, by serving as a guide to the center of your heart.

I am here to offer you my knowledge of the body & the mind alongside my fervent faith in the strength of your soul. So thank you, for being here! I hope to help you soon.
